I am looking to build a relationship with a team of developers who can help me finish an educational gamification suite. I will be selecting 3-5 developers, preferably teams with a variety of skills. I will select based on evaluating performance on smaller audition tasks . - The first task will be documenting that you can set up the development environment - The second task will be that your team can produce a "Hello world" component I will pay $150 USD for each of these audition tasks ($300 total). I anticipate that these tasks will take about 30 hours. Please plan on completing them within one week. Please plan on completing them with little assistance from us. Completing these tasks will document that you have the skills required to work on this project. Not everyone will be invited to complete the second task (I will create a separate posting for Task 2). These are audition tasks and I won't receive a lot of value from your work. However, this will help me identify programmers who are capable of working on this project. Those who perform well in the audition will be included in a small pool of developers to work on a grant funded project over the next 1-3 years. I expect successful applicants to work full time for me at an hourly rate we agree upon 30-50 hours a week (typically 40 hrs/wk) as the project demands. Fill in any gaps you find in our documentation with documentation of your own Deliverables: 1. Demo Project Delphinium in Canvas LTI 2. Demo Project Delphinium in OctoberCMS 3. Demo live Canvas data in localhost dev environment 4. Provide passwords and UID for me to evaluate Canvas environment 5. Provide password and UID for me to evaluate live OctoberCMS/Project Delphinium environment 6. Provide contributions to documentation Task 2 - Create a "Hello World" component in Project Delphinium a. Access Canvas data via the Project Delphinium Roots API including Modules, Submissions, Users, Analytics, and Assignment Groups, c. Display a print out of the data in a Canvas LTI and in a localhost environment via Project Delphinium d. Format the data 6 times using raw data, twig, D3, jQuery, Angular, and Bootstrap e. Fill in any gaps you find in our documentation with documentation of your own. Deliverables: 1. Demo your component in Canvas and localhost 2. Provide access to Canvas and OctoberCMS for me to evaluate component 3. Provide source code for component via a pull request to a unique branch in the Project Delphinium GitHub 4. Provide code and suggestions for improving the demo component (Vanilla) 5. Provide contributions to documentation For both tasks I will be evaluating quality of work, timeliness of work, amount of assistance required, and quality of communication. Future work on the project (not included in these two task postings) will include: 1. Refining existing and/or building new gamification components in the Delphinium framework 2. Enhancing the Delphinium framework 3. Building APIs 4. Finishing a rules engine 5. I need a client library built that intercepts an application's system calls (creating files/processes/network connections) so we can track its behavior, as well as the behavior of its child processes. The library has to have a way to communicate with itself and its children, as well as collect telemetry and deliver it to a set of RESTful APIs. We're using Microsoft Detours for the actual interception, and need somebody who can put it all together in a tiny .lib file that we can get our customers to link into their applications. Work can be done in either C or C++, but focus has to be on (1) minimal external DLLs and (2) high performance. Perfect freelancer will have worked with Microsoft Detours in the past... and has lots of experience in building high perf apps.
