I have two things I need help with, and both involve conversion tracking. BACKGROUND: I have two email newsletters. Both use MailChimp. Each newsletter has its own landing page. I drive traffic to those two landing pages using Facebook ads, partnerships, and Google AdWords. Both email lists are double opt-in--so, when someone signs up on one of the two landing pages, they're immediately redirected to a "thank you for signing up page." Then, they also get a "please confirm your subscription" email. When they click the 'confirm' button in that email, they are immediately redirected to a "thank you for confirming page." (1) I've set up four goals in Google Analytics. The first goal tracks how many people get to the "thank you for signing up page" for the first newsletter. The second goal tracks how many people get to the "thank you for signing up page" for the second newsletter. The third goal tracks how many people get to the "thank you for confirming page" for the first newsletter. The fourth goal tracks how many people get to the "thank you for confirming page" for the second newsletter. Three of the four goals are tracking conversions properly. The third goal is not. The numbers are way too small and do no correspond with the daily signup numbers from MailChimp--it's not anywhere close. It's off by about a factor of 20-25. [see attached image] I need help figuring out why this goal is not tracking properly. (2) I am new to using AdWords. I am just beginning to use it drive traffic to the newsletter landing pages, but I am having trouble setting up AdWords conversion tracking. I use Google Tag Manager to put tags on the landing pages, the "thank you for signing up" pages, and the "thank you for confirming" pages. (All of those pages were built in LeadPages.) I chose to put the AdWords conversion tracking tag on the "thank you for confirming" page, as that's when someone completes the double opt-in and actually "converts" and becomes a subscriber. Using Google Tag Assistant, I can see that the AdWords conversion tracking tag is loading on the "thank you for confirming" page. [see attached image] But no conversions are showing in Adwords, and the tag still shows as "unverified," even though I know the tag has fired. [see attached image] I need help figuring out why these conversions are not tracking properly. Thank you!
