WELCOME SUPERSTAR RUBY ON RAILS JOBSEEKERS!!! I wish to invite you to be part of an exciting company that gives you the opportunity to show off your talents, grow and be paid very well to do so. We are currently looking for a Ruby On Rails Expert (someone with amazing programming talents) that primarily utilize Ruby and Ruby On Rails (can be another web framework like Sinatra). *** THE RATE OF PAY *** We will pay whatever you are worth... If you possess all the requirements and have talent you can expect to be rewarded handsomely! If you prove yourself as an asset to the company for several months you can also expect a pay increase. If your main focus is to be the best you can be and you treat this company with the respect and care you treat your closest family ‐ this company will take care of you. *** WORK DESCRIPTION *** Programming a simple skeleton web based automation app to get upload products on Amazon Merch. Amazon merch: https://merch.amazon.com So basically here's how it would work... You would be able to upload a folder of product images that you want to sell on Amazon merch. The software would automatically use the name of the file for the product title... and upload these images one by one to Amazon as new products. There is an image attached with the UI layout and fields needed to accomplish this. *** REQUIREMENTS *** ‐ RUBY ON RAILS, OR SIMILAR - I'd prefer someone who uses Ruby On Rails but other programming languages are not out of the question. Others in the team including myself use these programs for our other products. And with you using it too, it will make it easy for others to assist in minor revisions that need to be made to your code when there is little or no notice and you are not around. We all like to help each other out in this company. ‐ VERY CREATIVE - Many times you will NOT be given full detailed outlines or wireframes of the apps you need to create. In many cases I may say I need a software of a certain type that does this, this, and this... and it will be up to you to come up with a design. Or I may show you several examples of other apps or softwares and request that you create a new software based on those examples. Don't feel as though you will be alone in the coding and design process we welcome people to ask for suggestions and to bounce ideas of each other, so if you're not sure where to start with a given task by all means ask and we'll help any way we can. ‐ RELIABLE - This is the most important requirement. As mentioned in the pay rate area if you treat this company like your family the company will take care of you. Reliability is a big part of that. Being in constant contact during working hours VIA skype, or other instant messenger, showing up to work consistently at the same time each day, meeting the deadlines you set, and giving advanced notice of any absence is a guaranteed way to get a pay raise. (However, not doing these things is a guaranteed way to get fired. There is a zero tolerance policy for disappearing during working hours without prior notice) If you are having issues with meeting a deadline or are unsure about how to proceed with a given task please let me know ‐ I don't ever yell at staff. As long as you just come to me and tell me what the problem is right away you won't get in trouble. Like I said, we're a family and we like to help each other out. ‐ NO OTHER JOBS/WORK - This job offer is not available to companies with multiple employees. Only individuals may apply. To fulfill the needs of this job you're full time effort must be given. I cannot accept delays in your tasks, or give you time off simply because you have "other work". In addition. I will not even consider applications that contain phrases like "my other work won't affect this". The requirement is that this is your ONLY job ‐ no exceptions. ‐ SAMPLES OF YOUR WORK - All applicants must provide samples of their best related work with their initial contact to this posting. Any applicant without samples will not be considered. ‐ EXTREMELY TALENTED - Only the best of the best will be considered. Only apply to this job if you are confident that you have what it takes to exceed expectations and be a valuable asset to the company. ‐ 100% FLUENT IN WRITTEN AND SPOKEN ENGLISH. I'm based in the USA and all members of my team speak English. A breakdown in communication because of a language barrier is unacceptable. I look forward to hearing from you and working with you in the future to reach high levels of success. I look forward to speaking with you, Chris

I'm a Harvard-educated Ruby on Rails programmer seeking help with web development for my just-launched web app, CrowdBurst, on an as-needed, hourly basis (probably 3-5 hours a week to start with). Check it out at www.crowdburst.com. You'll need expertise in the Ruby on Rails ecosystem as well as Javascript/JQuery/Coffeescript, Rspec/Capybara, and git. This post is for programmers specifically; I have a separate post for the web design (HTML / CSS) aspect of the project. If you can do both, that's even better. If you're interested, please send a brief resume and/or links to your previous work, and answer my quiz question below. Compensation will depend on your experience and skills. I look forward to working with you! QUIZ QUESTION You have an array of strings. Write a Ruby function for converting the array into a Hash of (key, value) pairs where each key is a string and each value is the 1-indexed index of the string in the original array. That is, given ['foo', 'bar', 'baz'], you should return { 'foo' => 1, 'bar' => 2, 'baz' => 3 }.

This is a platform that allows customers to search and manage their IT objects. Built on Node.js and ElasticSearch, it enables a state of the art search engine to find objects quickly and easy. The idea is to search for a object as a specific user role and then select a action to perform on the object, eg. change it. Example: a end user wants to order a new software for their computer. This will then trigger a automatic process that integrates with other systems and deploys the software to the users computer. The product/platform is in BETA right now and we have our first customer running it. I am looking for someone long-term that can be an asset to the project. I estimate work to be 15-25 hours a week as a start. All tasks and issues are in GitHub and we work. This is a TDD project... Looking forward hearing from you.

I created a very simple Rails app that used the searchkick gem and elastic search. It works fine locally, but when I deploy to heroku, it fails to connect to the server. The error I get says: Faraday::ConnectionFailed in ResourcesController#search. ... I think this is related to searchkick and elasticsearch. I tried using Heroku's Elastic Bonsai but I just can't seem to figure it out -_-. ... I don't think it's a tough fix for the seasoned developer. Here is the link to my heroku app which is enabled to show the error. https://coding-resources.herokuapp.com/ Feel free to call or text me at I have this uploaded to github, but I feel like the easiest thing would be to use TeamViewer to get remote access to my computer to play around with.

I currently have the swift application and the heroku backend working. I also have heroku set up with S3. I'm able to get a pre-signed post request back from heroku to my swift app, but I can't get the direct upload from Swift to S3 to work. ...
