POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Thumbtack Payroll Analyst/Admin’s primary responsibilities include helping to determine marketplace benchmarks for compensation, and conducting ongoing research and analysis on salaries, benefits, and perks to maintain competitive pay packages at Thumbtack. He will also ensure timely and accurate payments to Thumbtack members and contractors on Upwork. JOB FUNCTIONS: Conducts market research on pay-related areas such as salaries, health care benefits, government mandated benefits, incentives, perks, etc. to benchmark Thumbtack against other service providers Computes hours worked and tasks completed for 500 (and growing) members and computes payment for each member weekly (includes hourly rates, project fees, bonuses/incentives, and other reimbursements) Submits accurate and timely payments for disbursement through Upwork Coordinates with Thumbtack departments regularly for up to date information on rates and policies Coordinates with pay or reimbursement-related vendors Primary point of contact for pay-related concerns CANDIDATE PROFILE: At least two (2) years experience working in a Human Resources Department, including hands-on administration of payroll and benefits. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. Strong local knowledge of payroll and benefits policies and rates. Advanced proficiency in Excel. Extremely interpersonal. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Self motivated with superior attention to detail.
