I am trying to build an internal application using Visual Basic and infragistics that will help our company to update tables on our SQL database. My Visual Studio understanding is very limited and I need someone to help me troubleshoot certain failures in the application. Current problem areas: -- UltraGrid is not updating after changes are made to the table. It retrieves all of the rows but changes are not saved. -- I do not know how to make a "split layout" (I don't know what the correct term is) that will show a data grid in one pane and update individual fields based on what row is selected. E.G. The data grid would show a list of users on left side and have detailed information in a pane on the right side. The information on the right side would update depending on which user is selected in the data grid on the lift side. -- Currently using MDI tabs. We have a large application (200+ screens) that uses a mixture of technologies for user interface design. The legacy screens are web-based and use DHTML features only available in Internet Explorer and Classic ASP (behaviors, dynamic events, html controls, xml data islands). The modern screens are built using C# and Infragistics control libraries to form our desktop application. The legacy screens are embedded into this desktop application using a NET 2.0 browser control. After January 2015 Microsoft will no longer support IE. In addition, the data binding features and hypertext controls used in our legacy screens are no longer supported in IE 10 and above so we are stuck on IE 9 for the past few years.
