I need an illustrator/designer to sketch up creative jewelry concepts for a start up jewelry company. The ideal candidate will have strong drawing capabilities, and creative abilities to design a cohesive collection around a specific element/theme. Experience with jewelry is a plus, but not a must. However the sketches will be converted into real and wearable products, so the artist must be able to create designs that are proportional and practical.
This job is primarily a creative illustration position. Our jewelers will be able to take care of proper sizing, dimensions, etc., so we don't require blueprint-specific level designs. However, the artist should be able to produce realistic designs and demonstrate accurate proportions if given ring or bracelet templates to work off of.
We are a fine jewelry manufacturing company based in New York, specializing in silver/gold jewelry with diamonds and color stones. Our ideal designer will be able to integrate diamonds and stones into their designs to demonstrate a balance between creativity and luxury.
We have some collections that we would like help expanding into new ideas, but we will also encourage and provide work for new collection and concepts altogether if we appreciate the artist's style and ability to design ideas that our jewelers can fabricate.
