I’m a freelance writer, journalist, and media consultant, based in California but work on projects in multiple countries (particularly in Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, India, and Hong Kong). I’m looking to hire a part-time assistant to help me out with the following tasks Updating my website weekly Updating Plugins Updating writing portfolio and home page with published articles. Developing Consulting Portfolio page Pitching me at speaking events send list of events to assistant to pitch. Researching events that I could speak at. Researching editors/publications Mailing List - Setup and draft emails to go out bi-weekly with new articles. Creating basic social media graphics for Twitter and Facebook and assisting with managing those accounts. I work mostly on environment and human rights issues and want someone with a similar, socially conscious background. This is starting as a 5-10hr/week position, but if it goes well, there are definitely opportunities to expand. Necessary skills - Fluency in American English. - Experience with Wordpress, Mailchimp, Hootsuite, Buffer. - Basic Graphic Design: Canva or similar photo editing tool. - Experience writing and sending article, media, and event pitches. - Experience dealing with members of media.
