Portfolio Monkey is a consumer facing internet site, whose mission is to level the playing field for self-directed individual investors. Portfolio Monkey provides sophisticated investment tools to individuals, offering an alternative to large banks and investment firms that charge high fees for little value. Portfolio Monkey is recognized in major financial publications, including Money Magazine, the Wall St Journal, and featured on NBC's Today Show.
Up until now, the site has been free to use. But now we are looking to monetize the site by charging users a monthly/annual subscription fee to use the site. Your first task (once you understand how the application is set up) will be to make various bug fixes and backend improvements to the site. Once that is accomplished, you will assist in implementing a new user flow for our planned subscription service and integrate a third party API (e.g., stripe, etc.) to handle billing, payments, and subscriptions so we can begin monetizing the site. Ongoing work will involve general site maintenance, new product features, and troubleshoot user issues, as needed. This is a terrific opportunity to learn and grow with a promising startup that wants to disrupt the financial services industry.
Our technology is built in Java (analytics), Ruby on Rails, MySQL.
