Proton Therapy (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proton_therapy) is an advanced form of cancer treatment. We are looking for a freelance researcher that could help us update and re-run a study we ran in 2009.
While surveys suggest that 20% of patients that are treated by radiation therapy would benefit from proton therapy treatment, only 1% of cancer patients receive proton therapy treatment today. Clinical evidence continues to be issued by researchers from all over the world and there is growing consensus on the number of indications that are suitable for proton therapy. Renowned cancer institutions such as Penn Medicine treat 45% of cancer patients with this particular modality. However, the current number of proton therapy treatment rooms is insufficient to cope with the number of patients who would benefit from it.
Our company, IBA is the world leader in Proton Therapy systems. External sources expects proton therapy to grow by 40% in 2016. The goal of this survey is to test these conclusions and gather more information on the the current thinking among health care professionals.
In 2009 we ran a study on the Proton Therapy market. We are looking for a freelancer that could hep us update and re-run this study with some new questions.
