What you'll do
Taking ownership of complete Platform infrastructure’s availability and reliability
Ensuring that systems and network changes occur without adversely affecting the stability of the production environment.
Championing best practices and continuously look for ways to optimize and streamline the infrastructure to facilitate a seamless experience for our customers
Applying DevOps methodologies and producing high-quality code towards systems management, treating infrastructure as code and configuration-as-code
Ensure proper technical design and documentation
Proactively identify areas to improve, automate and scale our architecture, application design and deployment processes
Vigilantly monitor, diagnose (and fix!) performance of platform components
Work efficiently in a constantly changing and growing environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are desired
Highly motivated self-starter and works well with limited supervision, but appreciates the importance of teamwork
Broad technology background: AWS admin, Quality/DevOps/Automation mindset, SaaS, SOA
Strong UNIX/Linux system administration experience and proven ability to manage and support the day-to-day operations of AWS cloud data center
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and ability to communicate detailed technical analysis to stakeholders
Solid experience of distributed, web computing environments with Apache, nginx, java application servers, networking, load balancing, caching, security
Extensive experience with Continuous Integration/Deployment with Ant, Maven, Ansible, Teamcity, Crucible, Artifactory
Outstanding oral and written communication skills, proactive and resourceful.

Ability to clearly articulate complex technical and business issues to a wide variety of audiences

Database administration experience with Oracle 11g, SQL, PL/SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL is desired
Able to read source code, and basic coding/scripting ability in Java, Perl, Ruby, C#, and/or PHP
Previous start-up experience is a strong plus
Familiarity with supply chain, transportation, or logistics
Bachelor’s degree in Information Science / Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field
Strong multi-tasking skills and open to working non-standard hours.
