We are exploring the possibility of starting a podcast. We have the concept, we have the on-air talent; we have something of an episode design; we even have a recording of a first "demo" podcast and plans to record three more. What we need now is someone to guide us through the evaluation phase to the go/no-go decision. Some of this will be general consulting to help us understand our options and guide us to the best decisions about all aspects of podcasting. Some will be intro/outro design and creation. Some of this will be audio editing / production of the demo podcasts and a short audio promo (and along the way helping us develop our own rudimentary in-house audio editing / production skills). Some of this may even be stuff we don't even know we need yet.
We are open to paying either a fixed price or an hourly rate for this initial work (but need some idea of what the total cost would likely be) - and can certainly provide additional information about what we're thinking and what we've done so far. (It's almost definitely NOT rocket-science to you, but it's all new to us.)
If we do decide to go ahead with the podcast, we would of course look to continue working with the same person on an ongoing basis - preferably on a fixed cost basis somewhat along the lines of:
- $15 per podcast up 20 minutes of finished audio,
- $20 per podcast from 20 to 30 minutes of finished audio,
- $30 per podcast over 30 minutes of finished audio,
- $35 per podcast over 60 minutes of finished audio.
We like to work with folks who have a creative, problem-solving attitude; who pay attention to detail; and who are extremely reliable. Extra points (though certainly not necessary) for someone who just happened to like our content too - the world of classic literature (you know, Homer, Shakespeare, Dostoyevsky, Austen, etc.).
