We're a startup building low cost robots to pick strawberries for large commercial growers. Our team already has the robotics expertise and software engineering skills to make this project a success. We are now looking for a freelancer with experience in designing custom parts and getting them manufactured for prototyping and small series to help us bringing our robot to life. Ultimately, we'd like you to work on the design of the robotic arm, as well as the mobile base of the robot. But we're going to start with a smaller project: The goal is to design the strawberry gripper so that we can get it manufactured and evaluate its performances in the real world. Have a look at the attached files. The idea is to build a hand-operated gripper in the shape and size of nail scissors. Unlike normal nail scissors, it should also have some pliers. When closing the scissors on the stem of a strawberry, the plier part of the gripper should grasp the stem just before the scissors cut it. The pliers and scissors can look similarly as to what you can find on Swiss army knives. So, here is how one would pick a strawberry: 1. take the gripper into one's hand 2. approach the stem of a strawberry 3. the gripper must be oriented in such a way that the plier part is closer to the fruit than the scissors part 4. close the gripper, as you'd do using scissors 5. bring the gripper back, while keeping it closed We'd like the design to be done using Autodesk Fusion 360, but we're open to any other free alternative. If you'd like to use something else though, please discuss it before. The ideal candidate will have: * Proven experience with CAD tools such as Autodesk Fusion 360 or Inventor * Proven experience in manufacturing of prototypes and/or small series * Keep final cost in mind at all times: Recommend using off-the-shelf components whenever available * Knowledge of how machining works to optimize the design for lower manufacturing costs * Knowledge of pros and cons of various plastics and metals, as well as finishing options

I have a shaving razor project with a working prototype in its most infant stage which illustrates the basic design and mechanics of my invention. I have sketches, approximate measurements and videos. The video are revealing and explains most everything. There are opening and closing lids, a telescopic element and water tight compartments. I have ideas on how some of the mechanics should come together and will present them. Finally: 1) The final ergonomic look and feel needs to be determined. 2) The final mechanics of how things will operate the most smoothly and efficiently. 3) I need 3d, 2d, and CAD drawings.(Actually, I just want the drawings most popular for presenting a product to a client for purchasing my invention or doing a licensing agreement. ) 4) I need drawings to file a design patent or utility patent. 5) The shortest video necessary for demonstrating the invention. My videos can be accessed from the Vimeo website only. I have photos in dropbox. I'm looking for a short turn around time. 7 days. If you are interested please do not hesitate to contact me with your interest and price! An NDA will need to be filled out prior to work starting. I am looking for someone in the United States for this job. This will be a fun project! Thanks

Hi, I need help with the design of a waterproof generator casing. Use case: the waterproof casing will be used as the hub structure of a vertical hydropower turbine. Blades will be fitted to the outside of the casing. Generator goes inside and shaft comes out through the bottom. Casing is put at a water depth of 3 meter and will be subject to Tnom=3000Nm with spikes of 5000Nm. Casing has to be made 100% waterproof for at least 10 years. Cost of manufacturing has to be estimated. Abrasive materials such as sand may be present in the water. Mechanical face seals or other have to be evaluated. Generator inside of this casing will be 300 mm in diameter and up to 1 meter high. That's all the info I can share at this moment. I need someone to create a waterproof assembly around the generator. This assembly needs to have a dynamic seal to waterproof a moving axle (RPM 100 to 200). Please give me an estimated plan of approach and time needed.
