To Candidates - - We are interested in working with someone who can do research and compile technical health information in a way that helps educate non-technical readers. We would like to be able to use materials from credible authorities where possible to build value/quality in the mind of the reader. We would be interested in working on a fixed fee basis if possible and are looking to establish a relationship with a writer(s) that would help create content for our website on a ongoing basis. This is the first writing project I have posted, so I am happy to address questions and take feedback to make this a successful engagement for both of us. WORK DETAILS - - Objective - develop a comprehensive summary of heart worm risks, treatments, diagnosis tips (and similar types of information) related to heart worm in cats and dogs. Would like the article/piece to be 1500-2000 words. Desired Deliverables - Create documentation on the topic outlined in MS Word incorporating visuals or other resources as necessary to complete the coverage of the issue. For items that are specific to a single source, please include that source as a reference/citation. Things to consider - The target audience that would likely be reading this information will be American pet owners that generally have some knowledge of animal care, but whose knowledge is not extremely deep nor are they very technical regarding the topic. Use bullet points to highlight key points that are worth remembering or calling out in a separate graphic. Provide charts and/or graphs of data that you find that provide more detail or insight into the issues associated with heartworm disease or its treatment, warning sights etc.. Please include links and proper references to ensure credit is given to the appropriate party. Review resources from the list of possible resources below, but spend some time searching for additional resources that could be helpful (beyond those that I have identified) Please provide a list of the sources used to develop the summary so that we can cite them if necessary and check facts etc... Questions this summary may help a pet owner answer - Generally speaking, what is heart worm and why should I be concerned about it for my pet? How do I know if my pet (cat and dog) have heartworm? How is it diagnosed? What is the cost of test used in diagnosis. How is this disease treated and how much does treatment generally cost? What are the popular drugs that treat or prevent heart worm? What risk factors contribute to getting heart worm? Or are there specific behaviors (of dogs and cats) that could increase chance of heart worm? How many dogs and cats get heartworm every year? What other remedies or preventative care exist to avoid this disease. How much does the average heart worm treatment cost? Does the cost of treatment vary significantly by US state or some other geographical boundary? Are there specific breeds of dogs or cats that are predisposed to get heart worm Possible Sources - www.avma.org www.aspca.org www.dogheartworm.org www.petsandparasites.org www.heartwormsociety.org

Our company is seeking a few independent contractors to edit and proofread Medical-Legal Evaluations on an as needed basis. Our reports will vary in length from 15 to 100 pages on average. Occasionally there are longer reports in the area or 150-200 pages. We typically require turnaround times of 2-3 days, occasionally there will be a shorter deadline. At this time we require editing for 5-6 reports per month, but this number is going to increase and is anticipated to be more than 25 reports per month by April 1. Eventually our goal is to have one or two primary independent editors and at least one overflow editor who may not have time to handle a consistent workload, but would be able to handle a few reports per month on an overflow basis. Independent contractors will be responsible for correcting, grammar, punctuation, tense, gender, etc. Independent Contractors will be required to sign a HIPAA Associates Agreement and adhere to all HIPAA rules and guidelines for data security.
