Topic areas for the 20 questions include: Governance (4) Concepts in governance Concepts in governance 2 Business Associate Agreements Service Level Agreements Needs analysis/systems selection (5) Requirements identification Risk identification/management Risk analysis Contract selection True cost of ownership Implementation (6) Systems implementation team Implementation planning User training System testing System testing 2 Gathering clinician feedback Maintenance (3) Data loss prevention Holt/Warm/Cold Failover Transitioning and decommissioning Evaluation (2) Planning systems evaluation Evaluating systems methods These questions are to be part of a larger scale exam aimed at technically-savvy physicians. The test-taker is a physician with many years of experience working in high-level/executive positions in health care organizations. This exam will evaluate their preparedness for positions that require clinical, technical, and leadership skills. The questions may contain a clinical vignette, an experimental or statistical observation, a definition or classification, an administrative problem, an application of a principle or regulation, or any situation potentially faced in practice. The ideal candidate should: - Have general experience/knowledge on information system lifecycles and be able to explain sometimes complex concepts in a clear and concise way - Understand the healthcare system & how technical concepts may apply to them - Be able to follow guidelines for writing test questions (http://www.nbme.org/pdf/itemwriting_2003/2003iwgwhole.pdf) If you're not too familiar with one of the topic areas, no worries. I'll include some starter material to work from. If you need any additional clarification, I've attached some sample questions on a related topic if you'd like to check them out.
