In a few months, I will have finished my new Fantasy Adventure RPG system. It is divided into several books: Four "core books", which holds the rules, monsters, magic items, options and so forth that you will want to have when play a game acording to my rule system; and four "source books", that detail the four most important game worlds my game currently has.
The illustration for my players handbook (with the rules and core character classes) has already been created. For the second book of the four core books (a big monster collection, about 500 monsters strong), I still need the cover llustration. That's where you come in.
I need a color illustration that depicts a flying red dragon chasing a herd of unicorns out of a forest. Below the ground, we see a cave with six different classic monsters, such as a troll, a Beholder-like monster and a Balrog-like monster.
The art style must be detailed and photo-realistic, but at the same time, painted in a very strong, bright colors, kind of like the old movies that were shot in Technicolor. Bright, detailed, realistic, yet evocative of classic Fantasy. "Quirky" fantasy art is completely unsuitable for this project.
Work starts in May 2016 and should be finished by Juny 15, 2016.
Please attach at least one OLD illustration sample to your bid/message, so that I can judge whether your art style is right for this job.
If you finish this introductory job with the cover for the monster collection, you are eligible to start with the next cover job for me. Right now, I'm looking to expand my artist team, and I have lots of covers I need to have created for me: Covers connected to my original fiction, covers connected to my original RPG system, covers for old book classics (which I need, new, good covers for, so that modern people will actually want to read them) and so on. But it is extremely important that you are able to be directed.
Upon payment, all rights to the cover go to me. Budget for the cover is limited to 150$, but a positive (and detailed) feedback is assured. Although the feedback is NOT considered part of the payment but is something I give customarily for a very well-done job. And it has proven on other places to be a BIG help in getting new work for artists. And, of course, if you finish this cover, you have the perfect piece for your portfolio to get all kinds of commissions from the RPG industry!
Okay, looking forward to your bids. Don't forget to answer all questions, attach at least one old color sample of your work (unanswered questions and/or missing old art samples will cause me to take you from the list of applicants) and Good Luck!
