To all the telemarketing/ phone-based lead gen pros out there: I'm rolling out a beta phone based lead gen program. Here's the deal: I pre-record a voice mail message to my target demographic, and will provide you with the calling software access to get on the phone. Then, your job will be to simply, only, exclusively....get into the voicemail box and drop my pre-recorded voice message. This message will offer this prospect a free informational guide that they can get by calling back the number on the message. You will be calling in the morning and evening outside normal business hours to business phone numbers, with the explicit intent of getting to the voice mail box. Sometimes you'll need to navigate a phone tree, other times speak to someone who can get you to the right voice mail box. If you can't get to the voice mail box, then kindly thank them and hang up. The whole point of this program is to drop dozens and dozens of voice mails prompting a call back to a pre-recorded message where the prospects can leave their name and mailing info to get the free informational guide. That's it. You don't need telemarketing skills, you don't need to know how to overcome objections, and you don't need to smile and dial. You just need to get into the voicemail box and hit a button on your screen that says "Drop Voice Mail". Then, the software moves you on to the next call. You don't even need great English - only the ability to listen, understand, and press the right buttons to get into the VM box. Ocassionally, you'll speak to someone just long enough to see if they have a voice mail. But this will be rare since you'll be calling outside normal business hours, expecting to get the VM. This is a beta program, so this test will last two weeks so that we can see how the numbers come out. Once we iron out the kinks it'll be an ongoing project.
