Seeking someone who is creative, knowledgeable, and understands the bottom line; to be as efficient and cost effective as possible when planning this data center design and technology stack.
The Goal -
The goal is to provide a software application to multiple remote locations that are related. I am trying to design an environment that shares one SQL server VM with separate databases dedicated for each remote location.
My current environment procedure is to set up a domain controller, a terminal server, and a sql server for every location; as you can imagine, this can become expensive and not the most efficient architecture.
Leveraging Active Directory or the newest Azure stack, i believe there is a much more efficient method that would save on hardware and maintainability... just need someone to advise me on this project.
This is a POS application written in Visual Basic. Customers want to host their data offsite and have remote access or vpn to their application.
