Hey Upworker's, This might be a little different. I need a product management person that can support a high-school tech project. My super smart 16-year old daughter wants to create an app based on an idea she has. We are looking for a product management person that could work with her to write a product spec. We don’t want you to do the work, we want you to teach her to do it. Most likely she can only work on this on Sunday. Our guess is you do 4-6 weeks to have her write during the week and you critique and give here direction on Sunday for an hour, or more if it’s needed. She’s smart, goes to one of the better New England boarding school, was in Girls Who Code this summer and is considering a career in tech/computer science. You’d be doing her a huge service supporting here. More on the project idea is below. Questions on what I think is valuable for you to address to help us decide is below. Fine to have support her too in doing the prototype coding. My goal is to get her a job at Snap, Facebook, Google, etc someday (which I have the contacts to support) but you'd be huge help her get there too with skills. The Project: I want to build an app that will allow the user to go through their closet to pick out and create outfits. Along with that they will be able to connect with their friends in order to scroll through their closets and mix and match their clothes. The users closet will be set up so that they will be able to scroll through their shirts, pants, skirts, dresses, shoes, sweaters, and everything else, in order to create outfits without having to try on a bunch of different clothes. The user will upload a picture of the clothing piece on themselves, and be able to sort it into their closet under the category that it fits. Then once their closet it set up they can scroll through and match up whatever they want in order to help visualize how the outfit would really look. Along with the ability to match up their clothes the user can sort their clothing into different categories and tags that they would like. For example, at my school we have community dinners every tuesday and thursday night where we have to dress up so I would want to tag all of my nice dresses with a “sit down” tag. Also they could favorite specific outfits so that if they maybe feel too lazy to create an outfit, they can go through the outfits that they have liked a lot and choose one already put together. Along with being able to scroll through the user's personal closet they will be able to go through their friends closets. They’ll either connect through location or through something like a personal code so that they can look through their friends closet. This will allow the user to go through their friends shirts, pants, dresses, etc. in order to help create outfits using their friends clothing. They could also sort through their friends clothing tags so that, for example, if I needed a sit down dress I could look through my friends “sit down” tag and easily find a dress to wear that night without having to go to their room/ house and try a bunch of outfits on.
