Looking to set up a multi user system for managing multiple properties. The system would be a portal for users to upload data (mostly excel files, sometimes pdf files), review data, and export data.
Would want the data to then be stored in a systematic fashion both in a database web-based, and downloaded to Box.com (run through the box.com API)
Would have an approval hierarchy so that ‘superiors’ could approve or reject data uploads.
To review the data, would have online dashboards.
Want an API that can interface with major third party apps (tableau, etc). Also, not sure if in the interest of cost, it might be easiest to do dashboards through something like this.
Want the ability to set up ‘conditional email notifications’ based on rules and the data. For instance, if a certain metric were to be below some given value, it would send out an email notification. Or another instance would be based on dates – if a user didn’t upload a specific file or document by a specific date, then it would send out an email reminder.
I am wondering whether there are existing systems that can do this (Quickbase, Basecamp, Zoho, Asana, etc?), or whether the best approach is building it from scratch? Either way want it in a web based environment.
Also, I’m wondering if typical web databases (MySQL) are sufficient for a large amount of data?
