BFC is specialized in supporting agro lending activities. As part of its activity, BFC has consolidated for a few countries Agro Technical Cards. These documents consists in a gathering of all the up to date information on agro best practices in each region of the country including updated information on cost of agro inputs, cost of labour, and cost of end product. This tool allows to build the expected cash flow of a farmer based exclusively on the type of culture he is practicing and the size of his lands The need For now the tech Cards created by BFC are exclusively compiled in XLS sheets similar to the following one: Having these Tex Cards exclusively accessible through Excel has become a weakness in term of access to information. Eventually, little use is being done of the cards compared to the amount of work it requires to gather and keep the information up to date. BFC would like to address this problem by building : A well structured Cloud hosted DataBase to store the Tex Cards An easy to use platform allowing to easily : Upload Tex Cards to the platform Update Tex Card information Manage users having access and different viewer/editor/Admin rights on the tex card Manage a secured Version controlled infrastructure allowing some users to fork the master tex cards to create their own Capacity to push back changes of parallel branches back to the master branch of Tex Card Generate data export which can then be used at the level of Agro Loan scoring Access the data from external system through a well structured API The first milestone tasks We would like the first milestone of development of our platform to include the following parts: Tech Card Database The techcard data currently stored in an Excel file structured as followed: It should be moved to a well structured Database able to store all the following information: Country and currency of Tex Card Region of Tex Card Type of culture of the TexCard Each Tex card has then as attributes the list of actions to be performed on this type of culture. Each action has the following attributes: Name Month of action Cost/kg/l Qtt of input to be used Cost of labour Number of iteration of the task Note that the tech cards contains this last info according to different methods which can be used. In attached tex cards, there are 4 methods level (Optimal, Optimal+selftechnic, Average, Handwork) These are the grey columns on the right of techcard Each tex card can then have 1 or 2 product types. Each of them having the following characteristics: Expected Yield for each type of methods Expected Cost Note: Most common type of actions could have an independant table where could be stored their standard cost. Data importer A small Excel parse system should be created to allow the new database to be filled from the information currently stored in the Excel file through a relatively easy process Simple Interface The initial interface should include the following capacities: Techcard management We would like this first milestones to include the development of simple interface with secured user/roles access and allowing the following actions to be performed: Create a new TechCard Library From Scratch Forking an existing one Edit existing tech cards Add a new techcard Data processing, display and export And allowing to access table with output data from the Techcards meaning for each Culture for 1 specific region, and one method the following information Total expenses per month Total expected sales Min Sales cost for sustainability Yield As presented in the following table We should have capacity to export these tables into XLS format to then allow them to be pasted in Excel sheets Action Log Allowing to follow all the actions performed in the system by the different users, from the log-in to the forking of tech cards library passing by the editing of specific techcards. Technical requirements Ideally the platform should be developed in PHP using CodeIgniter and AngularJS as frameworks and MySQL as Database
