We're looking for an experienced developer to work on a new project. We have an existing web app and would like to use the same technologies for our new project, but open to being challenged if you feel you have a better way of doing it. The new app will be a ReactJS app following the Flux pattern (using Alt) with a Rails API running on AWS. You'll be using the latest technologies without legacy code- a great chance to build experience. You should be able to work full time, exclusively on our project. I know you'll likely have existing clients that have questions / need bug fixes, so we can reserve 0.5-1 day/week if you need that. We have a brief daily standup meeting and manage all of the work on Trello. Everything is in Git with reviewed pull requests to keep the quality high. Our founder is an experienced developer too. Focus on our work exclusively is important so we will commit to pay you at least one month full time, allowing you to pause other commitments. No agencies please. Just individual candidates. Hourly - Entry Level ($) - Est. Time: 3 to 6 months, 10-30 hrs/week - Posted is a SaaS website. Our site is not too bad, but know that we need to give it more style – more soul – better UX. We know a bit about CSS (see our index page for some nice css) and would like to use it make just the right number of changes to give positive feedback on the experience of using our service. We are looking to engage in a larger project of improving the UX of the site. In order to meet the right person to work with us we are posting this smaller task. Our service sends mail (through the postal service). We have a “button” to Send a piece of mail. When this happens, both the user and we are very happy. The user has gotten a task off their desk and we are making money. Hooray. It’s a party! But it doesn’t look like a party. It looks like a plain old click to move on to other boring work. We want to change that. Are you the right one to do it? We would like to take inspiration from the Twitter heart here: The heart has an expanding circle and explodes into particles that look fireworks. Now THAT’s a party! Except we start with a rectangular button, so the circle should be a rectangle (of similar height/width ratio). I think it should be ok to have the particles still radiate out in a circle. Oh and the button is really an <a>anchor</a>. Or maybe it should all radiate out of the envelope in the text in Send in the <a>. We’d like the graphic to be triggered by just adding a class to the button (or to the envelope). No frameworks and no js in the rendering. And if you have thoughts on an alternative or variation, we’re willing to hear them. We look forward to hearing from you.
