I have an immediate need for Wordpress development on a part-time (definitely growing to full-time) basis. Work as part of a growing, laid back team and help develop websites AND a fun work ethic within our small team community. This role is very flexible, but it is important to state from the outset that deadlines are CRITICAL to the reputation of the business and ongoing client relations - this is the one variable there is no room for flexibility on, and if we have a zero-tolerance policy to deadlines missed without explanation - it keeps us and our clients happy! Most of our development is WordPress, but we develop themes from scratch with all new builds - experience in the following is essential: Ability to develop static proofs (PSDs) into functioning WordPress themes Development of Wordpress themes from a baseplate such as Bootstrap, skeleton or underscores (or completely standalone is fine - but no theme frameworks please) Good working knowledge of lean, efficient code with load times kept to a minimum (we are very proactive in SEO and UX, so loadspeeds are paramount and much more important than flashy features and animations) Good working knowledge of WooCommerce as it pertains to integrating into themes BONUS SKILLS: Ability to add and work with custom post types and custom taxonomies Experience with Gravity Forms Working knowledge of jQuery Working knowledge of custom functions and plugin editing/development Key to this role is management of deadlines - I'll always try and be realistic with timescales, but most important for me is that the clients are always happy - so we always get the work done on time and on schedule for them. Other than that, I'm really laid back about work and don't mind when you complete it - as long as you're able to dedicate a good amount of your time to our work first :) NOTE: PLEASE INCLUDE AT LEAST 3 SAMPLE SITES YOU HAVE RECENTLY DEVELOPED, AND A ONE LINE DESCRIPTION OF ANY KEY FEATURES We currently use Basecamp and Todoist for task management, and these will be set up alongside bug tracking software to make development of projects to completion as easy as possible. Full training provided in project management systems, but you are expected to be able to hit the ground running with the website development :-) Look forward to hearing from you - good luck!
