(I just put some random number in there, so don't mind it. Your bid should be how much you expect to be paid for one complete work. We'll discuss the pay once we get started on the job.)
I'm looking for a qualified fiction writer who can write a detective novel for me. You must be a native English speaker. Those who are not native English speakers will be immediately declined.
I'm a writer myself. When I write, I generally write a rough draft of a novel and then repeat the rewriting process hundreds of times. However, since I need this for my writing portfolio and for publication, I don't really have time to go through the whole thing. In addition, it's my first time writing a detective novel, so I need someone who can provide me with a third-person perspective. I need someone who can provide a quality work, even though I will edit the novel later on to ensure consistency with my previous work and my general writing style or will, possibly, rewrite the whole thing based on it.
Someone who is...
- Expert at writing descriptive details
- Expert at following character developments
- A fast writer
- Willing to work at a reasonable price
- (Preferably) experienced in writing detective novels
I'll provide you with a very detailed outline of the story, and you'll write a novel based on the outline. If needed, you can also suggest some changes in the outline.
Keep in mind that you'll be expected to confirm that you're giving up all your rights to the finished work and that you have no rights to the storyline itself. You'll not be able to give it out, even if it's only a part of your work, as your writing sample. You'll not be able to mention anything about the storyline or about your job in general. Since I am a published author myself, this requires extreme confidentiality. You'll be required to sign a NDA.
Your work is required to contain AT LEAST 50k. Also, the story takes place in the United States. So please be an American citizen and have extensive knowledge of American lifestyle.
If things go well, it can be developed into a long-term work relationship.
Please attach a writing sample that best demonstrates your writing style. If I decide you'll be a good fit for the job, I'll send you a message asking some questions. Thanks!
*PUT YELLOW at the beginning of the cover letter so that I know you've read the whole thing*
