I had a speech written (to be presented as a webinar) by a freelancer entitled "Think and Grow Rich for Inventors" that did not turn out the way I had hoped. I need it to be revised or re-written from scratch so it tells my PERSONAL STORY and ties it in better with the topic ("Think and Grow Rich for Inventors"). However, my personal story must be written in a HUMBLE fashion.
I am doing this webinar to get more business and people do business with people they LIKE. A speech that relates my personal story in a "I am the king of the world" fashion is not good.
I was looking for a 60 minute speech/webinar/presentation entitled “Think and Grow Rich for Inventors” modeled after the classic business book by Napoleon Hill.
I wanted to take Napoleon HIll's 13 steps to success in "Think and Grow Rich" which is GENERAL and APPLY IT SPECIFICALLY TO INVENTORS . In the process, I wanted to tie in my OWN PERSONAL STORY and use it to motivate inventors and have them see me as someone that UNDERSTANDS THEM as I have been an entrepreneur myself leaving the security of a job at one of the world's top patent law firms to go out on my own and start a law firm assisting inventors with patenting their ideas. To assist you in tying in my personal story....once we are interviewing....I will attach a word document with my "personal story". If you would like a "preview" of my personal story, I have a 2 minute animated video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7gDxryz8qME and a 10 minute speech at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-IkClY2l_-E
Regarding Napoleon Hill's classic business book, "Think and Grow Rich", it is available online at: http://www.actnow.ie/files/ThinkandGrowRich.pdf
Preference will be given to speech writers that have read Napoleon Hill's book and are a fan or are at least familiar with the self-help genre along the lines of what Tony Robbins preaches.
The presentation will take the 13 steps in Napoleon Hill’s book and fascinate inventors by showing them how these timeless principles apply perfectly to inventors and inventions by using well-known and famous inventions as a guide.
As such, I need someone with research skills that can go online and find appropriate examples from GREAT INVENTORS in history and where they apply Napoleon HIll's teachings.
This should not be too difficult as Napoleon Hill himself uses examples such as Henry Ford's automobile, the Wright Brother's Airplane, Thomas Edison, and Alexander Graham Bell.
However, Napoleon Hill's book was written in the 1930's so I want to make sure I have recent inventor success stories that are INSPIRING. Stories like those of Steve Jobs and Bill Gates are not really inspiring for most people because they are seen as geniuses and nobody gets inspired by a GENIUS achieving greatness. A story about Galelilo figuring out that the earth is not the center of the universe is too LOFTY for a guy that builds a better kitchen appliance.
It is when someone that is seen as "being just like us" becomes successful that it is inspiring. Perhaps Mark Zuckerberg's facebook is an example. Yes, Mark Zuckerberg was at HARVARD so he is not exactly "just like us" but his idea "facebook" is easy to understand. He didn't develop technology as intimidating as a completely new operating language (i.e.- Bill Gates) or an entirely new computer (Steve Jobs).
People are inspired by AVERAGE JOES becoming successful. I want stories of people like the inventor of SPANKS (slimming pantyhose) such as Sarah Blakely see http://www.forbes.com/sites/clareoconnor/2014/10/21/spanx-inventor-sara-blakely-on-hustling-her-way-to-a-billion-dollar-business/#6e183fef478f
Inventors of everyday gadgets that have made it. The more well-known the product the better....but the inventor cannot be seen as a towering genius because that is not relatable and therefore not inspiring.
The Wright Brothers are inspiring....they were "bicycle mechanics" that invented an airplane! J. K. Rowling (author of Harry Potter series) is inspiring because she was a secretary when she wrote it. Successful attorney John Grisham writing another best seller doesn't inspire anyone.
Before you move forward with the speech, I would like a rough outline specifying the inventor EXAMPLES you intend to use. This will be a "milestone" and 1/2 the total project budget will be paid upon successful completion of this milestone.
Although I will present this as an online webinar, you do not have to worry about visual graphics and Powerpoint slides or using fancy-smancy webinar presentation software.
Your goal is to create compelling, exciting, and magnetic content for my presentation.
Once you provide me with the written work product, I will post a separate job for “webinar experts” to take your content and create appropriate slides, etc. so that it is a good webinar VISUALLY and is optimized for the speech being given online as opposed to in front of an audience.
