Event: Subject Choice Evening
Audience: Grade 9s, parents and teachers
Topic: A different angle to choosing a subject
Length of speech: 15 minutes
Deadline: 28 August
I am an English major/psychologist with a history of delivering powerful and unforgettable speeches. However, its been a while since I have last delivered a speech and there is pressure to be amazing. I have been asked to present a speech to 200 Grade 9s for Subject Choice evening.
Boring, unstimulating, inauthentic speeches are NOT my style so I am looking for someone highly intelligent, quite experienced and genuinely focused to edit my speech which is currently a draft.
The person I am looking for is someone who can take my words and craft them into a powerful and impactful statement which moves and touches.
Speeches only succeed if they are genuine and true to the speaker. The trick is that it needs to be authentic and true to who I am. So it is important for you to know that I am a small blonde 31 year old woman with a strong academic background. I work at the school that I am delivering the speech, however I am not well known to my audience. I appear reserved, more introvert than extrovert so my words need to match my personality.
I am genuinely deep, empathetic, soft spoken but fiery with a lot of life experience and genuine care. I don't want to speak ABOVE the heads of the Grade 9s (14/15). Only apply if you can add structure, relevance and impact.
