Hi I have a thesis that is due soon. The thing is I am having trouble with the testing, with the explanation of the method and the results. I already did the testing then the tutor indicated that I forgot to include control variables. So now I have those data as well now the testing I really am unsure how to go about it. It's simple at the beginning. I am testing if internal or external promotion of a CEO is better, looking and stock performance of 3 years prior to performance and 3 years after promotion. Also I deduct the S&P 500 increase to see the real results. I also do that with Return on Assets (ROA) and then deducing the ROA for the industry average. Last but not least I test if Age is also a factor the younger the better or the older the better, after that I combine internal / external promotion with the Age testing to see if there is any thing to say that when hiring externally younger person is better to become CEO and when promoting from within an older person is better for the CEO Position. The control variables I have are the NET ASSETS of the companies themselves so to control for the size of the company/ also industry volatility and position meaning CEO is CEO and Chairman of the board or only CEO. So how to include the control variables with the testing. For example company size is number whereas CEO and Chairman of the board is not. So I need I someone to do the testing and explanation of the results also you need to know what format of tables are accepted in thesis'. I had someone include tables that where directly from SPSS and got a remark from my tutor.
