Purpose: The goal of this project is to be able to use the Jawbone UP24 fitness bracelet to simulate ONEEs application in a real world setting. The app is to be ported into an in-house ONEE application as a means to prototype test. Tasks to perform: • Create an Android application that: o Searches for available Bluetooth Devices o Establishes connection to desired Bluetooth device o Recognizes a single button press of the Jawbone UP24 button o Recognizes a double button press of the Jawbone UP24 button o Send the Jawbone UP24 Vibration signal to the bracelet on command Requirements: • App (jar file) is to be written in Java code and compatible with Android Studio SDK • Application code is to have clear comments detailing process functions throughout code base • Bluetooth connection is to be stable Items Provided by ONEE Team: • Jawbone bracelet and USB charger <firmware may need to be updated> • UP24 Notifications apk • Rough decompilation of the UP24 Notification apk Deliverable Items: • Completed, tested, and functioning Android application apk • Fully commented and understandable java source code that is compatible with Android Studio SDK • Return of the Jawbone UP24 Bracelet Helpful Items: • Please download the official Jawbone UP application <may need to use this to ‘sniff’> • This website here gives some idea on how a similar project was performed to create the UP24 Notifications app (basically on receipt of a desired application notification, the phone sends an UP24 a vibration signal) o • Email from Stefano Brilli – indicated the correct path forward on this project would be the following: o “If you want to "sniff" bluetooth commands sent to (or received from) the UP24, you will need a rooted phone. Then, inside the android debugger you have to set a breakpoint for *any call* to the method _writeCharacteristic_ of the class BluetoothGatt for the original UP application process (if your phone is not rooted you won't see this process). By checking the value of the arguments passed to this method you can read what values are sent to the band. The counter part method for reading values is _readCharacteristic_ .”

For a Comparison Website I am searching for Academic / Technical Editors that will do research about the details of Software Products and other Technical Products, sort the data and write product articles based on the data. The process consists of these steps: 1. Definition of Product Niche 2. Research of relevant Criteria and building of Criteria system 3. Development of Coding-Scheme per Criteria 4. Download Product Image, Supplier Logo, URL 5. Filling in the details in a table 6. Adding the details to the comparison page 7. Adding Metadata: Category description, Tooltips, Headlines etc. 8. Creation of the detail product review based on each category of criteria 9. Optional development of a Ranking and adding the statistical information 10. Writing a buyers guide how to find the right product in the niche Examples of niches: - Landingpage Builders - Newsletter Software - Proxy Servers - Antivirus - Consumer Electronics etc Mostly there are examples and comparisons out there. So secondary research is possible. But the overall quality must be better than what can be found to be competitive. This is an ongoing Project, once the workflow is established. Also the budget can be defined once we have discussed the project and it can be paid per hour within a defined range. English skills must be native or close to native.
