We are launching a project to build an automated terminal scripting system with comprehensive workflow building, management and debugging. We are working with enterprise networking hardware (Cisco routers, switches, etc.) and are looking to automate manual management processes over telnet. We’re looking for someone who can build a system that will manage the communication with the hardware, including determining hardware and firmware details on the fly and performing actions and updates as needed, as well as alerts to users. This system will be used and managed by network administrators fluent in the hardware. A core element of the end product is that it needs to provide service access to separate terminal emulators and data warehousing.
We love technology and solving problems with the right tools for the job. We do a lot of web-based work on the LAMP stack but have used node.js, bash scripting, PowerShell scripting and are looking into Python and Go where the situation fits. We’re passionate about doing the right thing, which for you means a simple maintainable code architecture, tight adherence to proper coding standards and a willingness to think ahead and prepare for future requirements when we can see where we want to go. You’ll be working with on staff development for project design and management. Qualified respondents will receive a detailed project brief.
Fluent English is a must as well as some (but not all) availability between the hours of 9-6 EST.
Please advise if you represent a development group or firm, or if you are an independent freelancer.
