I have an important question that I cannot find an answer for.
I have been doing this PR thing for my book for only about 2 months, including doing heavy outreach on my own. I seem to have discovered a knack for it, as I have booked and completed about 40 targeted radio/podcast interviews with a handful of periodical interviews and quotes. The radio interviews have been great! I have been enthusiastically received, my book hailed as ground breaking, and most hosts have invited me back. All promote my book and website heavily on and off air. I have exactly 37 more events scheduled with more invites every other day.
The problem is that all of this promotion and calls to action has not resulted in increased sales of my book (or inquiries for my other services).
PLEASE NOTE There is barely any traffic sent to my website. I have free book excerpts/training video advertised in a popup on my site. I have the usual stuff, but very few email signups. I do have great user engagement on my website for those users who do come, as I have a lot of videos, radio interviews, and provocative articles.
marywingo.com.is my site----suggestions are totally welcomed, but the big thing right now is to get more traffic.
I can't say we need to push the book or website harder on these shows because,as a salesman for 10 years I know how to do this. The hosts and I do many calls to action. I could not ask for better promotion from these hosts.
So what do I do? Obviously, raving endorsements on very niche targeted media are not working.
}Is there normally a trajectory of response for these type of publicity campaigns? I can do 100, 200 or more---is this what it takes to get real visibility and traction? I am very new at this and would love the education.
