I am looking for someone who can help me with finding as many Japanese opinion polls as possible on attitudes to democracy in the post World War Two era.
Good knowledge of both English and Japanese is important.
The opinion polls must
a) be downloadable as individual-level STATA, SPSS or Excel files. I am interested in individual-level data, not just topline, aggregate results.
b) have good temporal coverage. Ideally, I would like to have polls from the 1950s until the present day, but if these are not available, I would like polls from as many years as possible.
c) the data files must contain information on individual respondents' year of birth or age and questions about attitudes towards democracy, nationalism etc. Ideally, the data files would also contain questions about how many years each individual went to school as well.
I can provide a website which contains an archive of historical Japanese polls.
If you are interested, please let me know. I will send you the website and answer any questions you might have.
