I am looking for someone who is an expert in Japanese language and Japanese culture. I want to create resources for an English speaking audience who are currently learning Japanese and want to move to Japan. I am not a native Japanese speaker so I need someone who is intimately familiar with things regarding Japanese/Japan that I don’t necessarily know.
The job will require you to perform research on a number of different topics regarding Japanese, learning Japanese, living in Japan, and moving to Japan. For several of the assignments you will need to draw on your own experience as a Japanese native. Some example assignments could be finding the most popular career sites used in Japan to help foreigners find jobs, creating a list of common words used in a certain situation in Japan, or finding good Japanese youtube channels Japanese learners may be interested in. I will also frequently seek your opinion as part of the assignments. This means you should be able to perform research in both Japanese and English so you should be comfortable with at least reading English content and you should be able to get basic points across in writing English.
The work will be assignment based and there will most likely be 2-3 assignments per week. There is also a possibility for more consistent/long-term work if everything goes well.
If you are interested in the position please submit an application to me stating why you think you would be good in this role and please give some background of your experience in Japan.
