I have a suite of online courses: https://www.udemy.com/user/evankimbrell/
I'm currently working on a new course and have a deadline soon, so I'm reaching out to find editors to help take over some of the editing load.
Lectures are on the topic of Product Management (http://www.aha.io/roadmapping/guide/product-management)
We have 1 editor that is taking raw video files and making rough cuts. Rough cuts have bad takes taken out, and transitions in between jump cuts.
I need a secondary edit where you'll:
- Add text on screen to support the lecture
- Add b-roll overlays to help students connect with the topic
- Show graphics when necessary
- Add energy to lectures to maintain engagement
I'm open to any techniques or styles you have. We focus on engagement and keeping people watching - so a priority goes to animations, energetic motions / transitions, anything that catches the students eye but doesn't detract from the lesson.
Here are two examples of a rough cut:
Here are the same cuts polished and completed:
It doesn't matter what your work flow is. You'll be working with exported mp4 files. The rough cuts might have screencasts or whiteboard videos but those are already pre-synced. If you use FCPX, I have plugins you can use. Premiere / AE are fine as well.
You'll need to be able to follow along with the content somewhat (enough to know whats appropriate to display). Looking for someone who can have fun with it and get creative.
I create online courses on a biweekly basis, so if we have a good working relationship, I like what you do, and you don't break the bank (the volume of editing for a course is too much), then there is an ENORMOUS amount of work I can assign you afterwards. I'm not even kidding - I have enough work for this to be full time if I the relationship works out (or whatever you want). Once you've been approved as an editor, you can log on to our platform and work on lectures virtually any time you want.
Send me some examples of your editing (before and after would be great), and please make sure you watch the linked lectures. I'm looking to hire some asap so if you're ready to start let me know and we'll fast track this.
