Hi. We have a visual foxpro database, running on a windows workstation (no server). it was working well for a long time, but suddenly, when we open the program, we get this error: Error 1534/Database "files"is not open. See attached complete error message. ONCE THIS IS RESOLVED, we will need help with upgrading and making changes to this database (upgrades etc). Can you help?

Hello, Due to the overwhelming response and interest in this project, as of 06/10/2016, we are no longer taking on any additional freelancers/candidates for this project at this time. A small working example (see attached .zip file and screen shots) of the Foxbase III application to be converted to FoxPro or ASPX.net environments. The attached working example requires a 32bit OS running in XP compatible SP2|3 mode (system is currently running on a 2008 32bit Virtual server). There are a couple of screen shots of the Foxbase system (nice), and what they look like opened in FoxPro (ugly)! This system is a legacy system written in 1988 – 2000 and am looking to have it: a. Migrated to FoxPro 9 with some existing code with updated screens & mouse functionality with the application operating as closely as possible to the original Foxbase system. This will allow for use of some existing code as much as possible and shorten migration timelines for moving it into production. However, we are open to design and functional enhancements as recommended. The VFP application will be installed on the client side and the SQL database hosted on a cloud server. Also, have dozens of Foxbase report forms that will need to be recreated in FoxPro or other report writers (open to suggestions/recommendations). b. Convert to MVC ASPX.net, VB.net or C# with SQL back end. Data and database|tables currently exist in both .dbf & SQL 2014 formats. I understand the legacy code can not be reused, however, we are open to this option for the right person|team and of course for a great pricing agreement. This solution is my first choice as this is the best overall long term solution. However, we are looking committed individuals and will require ongoing updates, bug fixes, support of product along with future additional modules and features developed for growth and expansion. Thank you and let me know if you have any questions. Steve

We have our own software called ARM. It was developed and created by the owner of our company to be used as health insurance broker specified and to track monthly commissions income/client policies. The company owner and the software developer met in a BNI group and worked closely together to create ARM. The software developer past away in December and left no instructions or referral on a replacement developer who can correct glitches and random error codes. The software is written in FoxPro and I believe it is web based. We first need a programmer to correct the error code that occurs when trying to generate monthly billing. I have a copy of the error code attached here.

ONLY APPLY IF YOU HAVE AT LEAST 2 YEARS VISUAL FOXPRO PROGRAMMING EXPERIENCE AND CAN START IMMEDIATELY. This task is not difficult, but I will have separate follow-up projects that will require a high level of VisFox skills. I have 800mb in 3 related CSV files that I want to combine into 1 flat file in Visual FoxPro DBF format. Step 1 = Create 1 flat file with fields identified with a “1” in the BLUE columns in the attached TABLES AND FIELD NAMES.XLSX. Add extra fields to identify if information is repeating for multiple rows in the 2nd or 3rd tables. Use MEMO fields for VARCHAR. Use the date field, not the date-time field. Attached are reduced versions of these files with 10k records each. ACCOUNT_APPRL_YEAR_10k.csv (25 fields) ACCOUNT_INFO_10k.csv (29 fields) RES_DETAIL_10k.csv (33 fields) Only send me the empty VisFox database. Step 2 = Write a simple FoxPro program to combine the data into 1 flat file. Include a screen prompt as to whether to import from the files with “_10k” in their filename or my original versions without the 10k: ACCOUNT_APPRL_YEAR.csv (25 fields) ACCOUNT_INFO.csv (29 fields) RES_DETAIL.csv (33 fields) This program must copy any rows with misaligned data into separate CSV files. It should display counts of records processed, etc. and save these in a log file. The program must be simple and easy for me to follow. It must be well commented. FUTURE VISFOX AND DATA ANALYSIS TASKS WILL BE CONTRACTED SEPARATELY ENTIRE DATA SET: If you want to use the entire 182mb zipped data set go to http://www.dallascad.org/DataProducts.aspx I am working with the 2015 Certified Data Files at Certification (Comma Delimited 07/23/2015)
