We run a wireless ISP. Part of this is running a small data center for mission critical services (RADIUS, DNS, Web hosting etc). Currently the data center is running on a single VMWare server. In order to create redundancy we want to bring up another VMWare server at a remote site and have realtime fail-over capabilities for specified virtual machines. This new server is much smaller then our primary server and is currently installed and ready to go. We fully control our network and can create any required configurations. What this job is looking for is an individual who can: A) Review our current setup B) Understand what we want to accomplish between the two sites C) Recommend an overall configuration (vms, networking) to accomplish our goals D) Recommend minimum VMWare purchases required to support this. E) Optionally: Provide hourly support for rollout of this new architecture. F) Recommend a backup/recovery strategy in the event of both systems going down. I think this is fairly basic stuff for someone well-versed in VMWare. We are solid in VMWare on a single server but distributed real-time is a bit beyond us. Our expected output of this arrangement is a series of diagrams and documents recommend this future-state system.

We have a VPX HA pair showing MAC moves. Original consultant had two interfaces in same network, disabled one but that didn't help. We then assigned VLAN's to interfaces, but that didn't help. Have attempted to bind IP's to VLANs but get errors. This is causing load balanced servers to occasionally become unreachable for a second or two. During HDX sessions that are doing USB attached scanning, it often causes the HDX session to freeze. Users can reconnect fine, so VDA is not freezing, and setting users so the bypass the netscaler GW and go directly to the SF's immediately resolves the issue. Pont 1 is to properly configure the VPX to stop MAC moves then point 2 is to see if further steps are needed to facilitate USB scanning. All work would have to begin 5:30 PM eastern US time. Consultant would have to provide GotoMeeting or similar.
