Several years ago, I had a simple, custom billing program written that I distributed as freeware to public interest companies. It has served its purpose well for the past decade
The primary problem is that I had the installation directory hard coded, which is fine for 32-bit Windows but now it will not install correctly on 64-bit Windows.
On 64-bit machines, it is installed into c:\program files (x86)" which causes problems when the program looks for files that are hard coded to be found under "c:\xxxx\"
The original programmer has long moved on to bigger and better things but he indicates that it all that is needed is "to convert the code from VB6 to VB.NET and make a few additional changes"
This is a very simple program that I thought up many years ago and had programmed, so hopefully this is not a complex problem. I do not want to re-invent the wheel!
