I've developed an educational engineering educational program. The program is a Microsoft windows form application. The goal is to develop a website that lets customer's create an account and buy the software. The website should be simple. It allows users to register. During registration users select a username and password. Also I need to collect information such as name, phone number, company, ... during registration. The website allows users to buy the software. The pricing scheme will be based on the number of students who use the software. The user will enter the number of students who will use the software. The webapp will charge $10 per student. The webapp will calculate the price of the software based on the entered number of students who will use the software. The webapp will then require the user to submit documentation from the school verifying the number of students who will be taking the class. This documentation should be a pdf. Once the user has submitted the documentation, then the site administrator will be notified. The administrator will log into the web site's back-end. They will look at the documentation and approve software registration request. Once approved by the administer, the user will be notified to continue the checkout process. The user will 'checkout' or pay for the software. Paypal will be used to charge the user. The price is $10 per student. Once the software is paid for, then the user downloads the windows form application, runs the software. On the windows form application, the user will enter their user-name and password, then the windows form application will send a request to the web app/website to the check if the user has paid. The webapp will send back information about if the user has paid and license end date. (but only send back information if the user-name and password are correct). The user can put the software on 2 computers, so when the registration is verified, the computer needs to 'claim' one of the registration instances. The windows form application needs to stop working when the registration ends. The 'backend' of the website lets the administrator see all users and their payment status. Administrator can manually override any of the user's information and generate custom registration approvals. Uses should be able to login-in and see their information and purchase history, and request to change their password if they forget it. All communication between the webapp and the windows from application must be encrypted. It seems like using Google App engine or Windows Azure would be the best host for this webapp, but I'm open to other things. I don't have a preference on programing language right now, but I would like to discuss this before starting. Deliverables 1. Develop the website and database. 2. Payment method should be using Paypal (or if you have a better suggestion, I'm open to ideas). 3. Develop a simple windows form application the lets requires users to register. This windows form application must be written in C#. 4. Comment the code to make it easy to understand. 5. Sync all code to a bitbucket git repository that I will set up. I thinks this is a pretty straight forward job for someone who develops webapps all the time. If anything doesn't sound like best practices or the correct way to do things in this job description, then I'm open for suggestions on things to change. I'm unsure about how much I should pay someone to develop the website and form application. Please discuss appropriate pricing in your cover letter. I already have a website. (www.garlandindustriesllc.com) I'm not sure if I want to merge the proposed website and the existing website. I'm open to suggestions. The current website is written in php and html5 bootstraps template. I'm also potentially interested in being able to have a blog on my website.
