I am a Filipino freelancer. I am in the process of expanding my team of freelance transcriptionists in response to the work overflow of my US-based client. Please read the details of my project, and honestly assess yourself if you are fit for the job. If you are a seasoned transcriptionist/proofreader, whether currently working in a transcription company, or working from home, you are most welcome to join my team. Flexibility in work schedule and deadlines is your greatest advantage here. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- || WHAT’S THE PROJECT? || A. This is general transcription. The audio files vary in content, but certainly do not require specialized or technical knowledge. Most of the audio files are clear in that they are professionally and sophisticatedly recorded. Usually, the speakers are professional marketers, consultants, university professors, hosts and company managers and executives. B. You have to strictly conform to specific guidelines on clean-read, client-ready transcripts. You must be able to construct grammatical and well-punctuated sentences. The quality of the transcript that you produce is your utmost responsibility, and as such, you must be able to proof your own output. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ || WHEN DO YOU HAVE TO DO IT? || A. I prefer individuals who can devote a part of their day (during Tuesdays thru Saturdays, say, at night) to take transcription projects. Once the project is designated to you, you must accomplish and submit a client-ready transcript within a specific TAT. We generally have longer TATs, since we take into consideration the fact that this is an extra job. B. Work assignment depends on your availability to take on a transcription project. You are not required to work every day. We will also not insist on assigning you with a project if you did not indicate that you are available. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ || HOW MUCH WILL YOU EARN? || I will pay you Php 600 per audio hour (i.e., output-based). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- || HOW CAN YOU APPLY FOR THIS JOB? || A. GRAMMAR CHECK. In your cover letter, please answer this question (in addition to your usual response): 1.) What competencies related to transcription do you possess? How did you develop your proficiency in the written and verbal English communication? Kindly mention some work experiences, training, or habits which largely contribute to your language and transcription proficiency. B. AUDIO TRANSCRIPTION. Those who can compose excellent cover letters (in terms of grammar, sentence structure, and punctuation) will be given the final test -- transcribe a sample audio file.
