In 2010, Miami-based author Hiram Gonzalez published his 317-page personal memoir about the Cuban Revolution of 1953-1959 to some acclaim.
Mr. Gonzalez would now like to have his book translated into English and has asked us to act on his behalf as intermediaries.
Understandably, it is very important to Mr. Gonzalez that we find a translator who will be highly sensitive to the nuances of his writing and able to accurately convey his every intention in publishable English. Ideally, you should have a familiarity with the historical period in question and, preferably, be knowledgeable about Cuba and the Cuban diaspora as well.
We are open to either an hourly or a fixed price arrangement, though we'd prefer the latter. Either way, we will need to get approval from Mr. Gonzalez for a (paid) sample of your translation before agreeing to have you translate the rest of the book.
