As part of a wider product we require the design of a fluid delivery system that will deliver one drop (approximately 0.5 ml) of liquid approximately every 12 hours. It should only use natural forces such as gravity, diurnal temperature change or atmospheric pressure to operate. It should be purely mechanical in nature, simple and operate unattended for several years at a time. The fluid will be a mixture of a solvent similar to Turpentine with (smooth) peanut butter oils and solids dissolved and mixed in it. The resulting liquid will be filtered to remove any oversize particles. It has a viscosity similar to water but a higher density. The fluid will be stored in a flexible foil bag and will flow to the delivery mechanism by gravity. Once delivered, the solvent will be allowed to evaporate off leaving the peanut butter substrate. The temperature range of the surrounding environment will vary from 25 degrees C to - 20 degrees C. Temporary changes to the delivery rate are permissible during extremes of temperature. Please see the attached sketch. The challenge involves delivering the approximate amount of solution without the solvent evaporating and leaving a sticky blockage in any part. If you have a concept that will solve the challenge please apply.

I'm looking for a product designer to assist in developing a way of creating a Golf Ball with a unique core in the middle. The object I want to place in the core isn't round, so needs to either be cast into it's own unique round casing and then placed directly into the centre of the ball as the other outer cores are added, or something similar. The object is also cylindrical in shape, so will need to be weight balanced to get the best possible even weight distribution. The current production method involves poring a liquid into a mould, and then adding layers over top of that. I need to sit the special inner core into the main core so it is centred and perfectly balanced in the middle. In terms of the actual materials used for the golf ball I am very flexible. I'm not too worried what it is as long as we can prove the core is completely centred and that the process can be easily scaled up to mass production. Here are some references to the materials used in golf balls - http://sportsnscience.utah.edu/2012/08/20/golf-ball-technical/ http://www.chemistryislife.com/the-chemistry-of-a-golf For more info on what the core actually is, please contact me and be prepared to sign an NDA.

I'm looking for someone that can model the flow of a fluid through a straight pipe. The pipe is being cooled by surrounding water and the viscosity of the fluid inside the pipe is highly sensitive to changes in temperature. I want to see a velocity profile due to the viscous effects near the pipe wall.

We need someone with exceptional researching and writing abilities to work on our project for 15 hours per week (you can choose when to work). You will be creating a chemistry quiz for an educational mobile app. Chemistry is one of many subjects available on the app. The purpose of the quiz is to do two things: 1) Systematically teach the user chemistry terms 2) Measure the user's knowledge on the subject of chemistry The quiz will contain 200- 300 lessons, each covering a general chemistry terms. Each of the lessons will contain five rounds before moving onto the next lesson. We will give you examples of the lessons once you are hired. Like any job, if you do well, you will undoubtedly receive more opportunities from us. Our definition of "doing a good job" is if all questions and answers are scientifically accurate and written simply enough for most beginners to grasp the concept. If you don't do well, it goes without saying, we will look for another freelancer (we hope it doesn't come to that). Work will be done in Google Docs so that we can easily collaborate with you. We will provide the list of chemistry terms. If you copy and paste text from somewhere online, make sure you reword it. Looking forward to interviewing you.

We have a formula that involves two types of sugar and two chemicals. The 4 powders need to be mixed with water and then freeze dried into granules/powder. They then need to be packaged in consumer-friendly packaging. The product will be for gardening use. All ingredients are safe. They are either classified as foods or pharmaceuticals (although in this case they won't be because the use is agricultural). Your task: 1. Identify a suitable manufacturer 2. Obtain quote sand negotiate with a packager. 3. Check labelling requirements in EU and USA. 4. Arrange for packaging design. 5. Ensure manufacturing and delivery to warehouses in US and UK. The product does not be made to GMP standard, as no human consumption is intended. Manufacturer in Europe (preferably Eastern Europe) and/or USA. Apply with details of your experience and how you would approach this project. Expected timelines and availability on your part.

We develop a smart equipment sizing tool, for the design and troubleshooting of pipe flow/pressure drop systems with heat transfer. We have a number of openings for the right people to work as part of an energetic team. You will work remotely. Key tasks: 1. Provide technical support to a consistently high standard, going above and beyond for customers. Primarily this is provided by email, and changes from customer to customer. 2. Help create content (technical writing is an advantage). This includes making videos, webinars, blog posts etc. 3. Help with sales effort + cold outreach 4. Potentially help with design projects Primarily these are support roles, but the possibility to adapt to your individual strengths is important. Key areas of interest for us, please prepare examples for interview: 1. Using better engineering design to achieve a good result, for example, by sizing a pump correctly we saved X. By taking a total system design we were able to select X instead of Y. 2. Any technical writing you have completed 3. Sales experience? 4. Project experience - please be prepared to discuss 5. General fluid flow and heat transfer knowledge 6. Good english Reach out with any questions you may have and we will be happy to help. Look forward to hearing from you soon
