I'm looking for an experienced data scientist who has had some experience working on process optimisation (engineering related) problems. My data set is from a power plant desulphurisation process which has approx. 100,000 observations and 30 variables. Using this data set, I would like to model the number pumps used in the process with respect to the other variables. Then based on the derived model, you would need to find the optimal solution at which the number of pumps used is minimised subject to a few inequality constraints. This is an interesting problem and I'm confident that whoever takes on this challenge will find it rewarding! I would need the code written in R. Also, practical experience in Machine Learning and Nonlinear Programming would be required. If selected for an interview, further details about the project/expectation will be provided. We're looking to contract a programmer to develop a data visualisation. The project is part of a regional initiative with UN bodies - UNESCO, UNFPA and UNAIDS. The visualisation will show on going progress of a project shown here: youngpeopletoday.net. I have some design background but really need the technical and data visualisation expertise to make it a reality. This project started in 2013 and includes 21 Ministries of Education and Health in Eastern and Southern Africa who are committed to scaling up better quality education and health for adolescents. To calculate average waiting times, you can use the severity and urgency levels of a patient, distance to hospital and time to treat patient. The application will also use give the option to either call an ambulance or a cab to determine the fastest route and best time to get treated. If urgency levels are low then making an appointment for a later date can also be an option. Im currently working on a model that should do the following: - take the input of several x'es - predict outcome y based on the x values. The y in this case is the outcome of a car check. The x'es I have contain data about fe the price, the birth year etc.. of the car. I have a lot of historical data with whether or not the car was approved and values on the x'es. Im looking for some with creating a predictive model. First step I want to do is create a mutiple linear regression model in R I have some ideas about how to do this but I would like some feedback for somebody more experiences. Finally I would like to know which next steps I should take for preparing everything for something like machine learning
