I am a Sociologist studying Romanian history and need to work with a team to create a database of conflicts as reported in Romanian newspapers (most of which are available online) between roughly 1880-1930. This is a long term job and I expect the database will take some time to complete. If you are familiar with the work of Charles Tilly, the database is similar to that used in "Contentious Performances" but if you are not familiar with the work and you have some training in qualitative sociology I will work with you to put together the database terms.

Looking for an experienced data analyst to develop a simple database in easy to use form to assess the frequency of breakages in an operation among other things. Data is currently in google sheets emailed on a daily basis from 3 locations to a specific email address. There is also another datapoint that you will need to get from an online POS database (specifically, 3(f), the number of that unit sold according to POS). The main categories for the database are obvious: 1. date and time email sent 2. location 3. employee 4. SKU a. number broken b. original total day estimate c. day start number d. day end number e. additions during day f. number sold according to POS However, there are somethings we may seek to add over time: a) batch number b) batch date c) employee responsible for batch d) stock picker responsible We would also like to categorise certain SKUs as "likely to break" or "less likely to break" And naturally, we will need to be able to add all the SKUs for the day for the store over different time peroids, or for specific employees. We would also like to be able to convert the number of brokens to an actual dollar figure - that can be adjusted as to whether it should be retail price or cost price. We need to have a database that anyone with basic computer knowledge can use. It can live on a hard drive on a local PC, as only 3 or 4 people will ever need to use it at any given time. As a next project we would like to be able to automate the continuing population of the database. I.e. if we can code an automated upload of the google sheet data into a database at the end of the day.
