Seeking an experienced and proven grant writer who will write a minimum of 4-5 pre-selected grants for our youth basketball organization that will be submitted in the fall of 2016. These grants are requesting funding by a youth basketball league that provides support for several different basketball programs in Manhattan as well as under-resourced public schools that need support of athletic teams. The non-profit organizations (Mo' Motion - - and work jointly to provide an inclusive environment for young athletes of all experience levels, and we also work together to support community centers and gyms in need of renovations (basketball backboards, rims, scoreboards, equipment, etc.) We request that you have experience with grant writing in the past and are willing to learn some basic youth team/basketball background history of how things work in New York City in order to complete this task sufficiently. This includes how competitive it is to standout in a crowded industry where several youth sports clubs are asking for grants and support. It also includes how to leverage federal government support and funding for underprivileged youths, particularly for minority girls who are all to often not included or discouraged from fitness and team sports at an early age (leading to Title IX violations in New York City in high school). Grant writer should know how to position the research that shows if a young girl does not become physically active in sports or fitness by the age of 10, there is only 1 in 10 chance that she will be active as an adult. Expansion of the youth basketball scholarships and team sponsorship initiatives can include partnerships in New York City that support and promote reading, tutoring, physically playing outside (of digital world) and overall health/physical activity. This is an hourly position that will be an ongoing project based on performance, progress and work dynamic. Incentives will be given with bonuses for grants received. This role reports directly to the executive director of our organization who will review your work and discuss strategy to produce the best grants possible, and it will include efforts to solicit volunteer support at league events and local sponsors. This position will require at least an estimated 4-5 hours per week for a trial period of four weeks in Aug-early September 2016; however, the hours will change as grant opportunities become more or less available. If required, we can move away from the hourly rate and do a flat fee based on each grant and offer bonuses. The more enthusiastic the performer, the more work and opportunities we will provide in a mutually beneficial working relationship. Interested in applying? In your cover letter, attach a sample of grant writing work you have done in the past. We would like to see your writing style and the quality of your work. Also include 2-3 sentences on your past experience and success with grant writing.

We are looking for an experienced and qualified copywriter to produce written content for an informational website aimed at educating users on grants and the processes involved in securing them. This will be an ongoing project and has the potential for repeat business if we like your work. For the first assignment, the topic will be loosely defined as "The Best Ways to Search for Grants Online." This could mean anything from educational grants to medical assistance. This is meant to provide a broad overview of the subject matter, direct our visitors to the proper resources, and inform them of the avenues they need to pursue, etc. You will be responsible for researching this topic, providing in depth analysis of the steps, processes, websites, and agency resources involved. A good article would provide specific examples and resources that our visitors can utilize to further their grant acquisition goals. Experience with these websites and resources is definitely a plus as you will be able to verify their legitimacy. Looking for a piece to be around 1000-1500 words, which shouldn't take much longer than 2-3 hours to produce. If you are not comfortable fulfilling either of these criteria, please do not apply as our budget is very strict. Thank you.

Seeking an experienced grant writer to take over a project to develop and submit an application for an NSF funded program. I don't have the staff to do this so am considering outsourcing. This may be the first of many. We are a new, small 501c3 and have never applied for a grant before. We can supply the research methods and details we will be offering for this grant, but need someone experienced in dealing with US government grant application filing because they will need to fill in the application and successfully submit it. THE NSF GRANT SUMMARY: Organizations are critical to the well-being of nations and their citizens. The Science of Organizations (SoO) program funds basic research that yields a scientific evidence base for improving the design and emergence, development and deployment, and management and ultimate effectiveness of organizations of all kinds, and advances our fundamental understanding of how organizations develop, form and operate. Successful SoO research proposals use scientific methods to develop and refine theories, to empirically test theories and frameworks, and to develop new measures and methods. Funded research is aimed at yielding generalizable insights that are of value to the business practitioner, policy-maker and research communities. Consistent with NSF merit review criteria, each SoO proposal should discuss both the intellectual merit and the potential broader impacts of the proposed research. SoO values basic research that has the potential to provide broader societal benefits. However, the majority of space in any proposal will need to be dedicated to the explication of theory, methods, and specific contribution to the evidence base about organizational effectiveness. Projects that aim to implement and subsequently evaluate particular organizational training, effectiveness or change programs, rather than to advance fundamental, generalizable knowledge, are not appropriate for SoO.  (**Click on PD-11-8031 and then download package**)
