I am looking for a highly skilled Industrial Designer or Industrial Engineer / 3D Rendering artist to help me modify an existing product and create final plans for prototyping. The designs are mostly complete, however there some changes that need to make to the designs (.STEP files) and a 3D renderings that need to be created. Final engineering may be required in the future. Upon agreeing to the project, I will share more details and the existing designs.

Looking for a industrial/mechanical designer in the New York metro area to tweak the functionality and design the final form of a patent-pending personal accessory I have created. In addition, the designer will assist in determining materials in light of function, material and production costs. Important considerations are of course, strong CAD skills, familiarity with designing consumer accessories with an eye to ergonomics and ease of use and aesthetics, familiarity with working with multiple materials and estimating relative production costs using various materials and production methods. The product fits in the hand, it will include at least two materials and has a simple mechanical element. The exact use of this product and details will be revealed to the freelancers I interview after signing an NDA.

1. The project deliverable is a 3D file of a modified electric trike (3 wheel bike). 2. You may work from an existing design Ex. 3. The trike will only need to carry cargo. No human on board. Meaning there is no need for pedals or a seat etc - because there is no human on board. 4. The frame modifications will include placements / mounts for several sensors (3D files / detailed dimensions will be provided for the sensors). Note: Steering and braking will be controlled by servo motors and a laptop. However this job does not require you to deal with the servos. It is absolutely a plus if you can (please let me know). However this posting is for step 1 - to get a modified 3D trike frame. Step 2 will be adding the servo motors to control steering and braking. Step 2 of the design will include a rear-wheel hub motor and a battery / BMS (battery management system). Please see the link below for project details. Confirming turning radius meets the requirement (2 meters - better is a plus) 3. Ground clearance - 12.5 - 20 centimeters (from ground level to frame - higher end of the range is a plus) 4. Frame mounts: lidar (Ex. pole), battery (Ex. flat plate), front and back GPS antennas and small box (Ex. plate), motor controller (Ex. plate), power converters (Ex. plate), laptop (Ex. plate), Arduino (Ex. plate) 5. Frame length (~120 cm) *6. Nice to have, but if complex skip it: Sonic sensors mount (there are 3 sensors in front and 3 in rear) Overview: removing human components (pedal, seat, steering arms, etc), the lidar can be mounted on a pole or other design), one large / several small plates depending on what works best, I think we only need a light rear suspension (so removing front suspension if the starting model had it), making sure the overall frame length and width were provided a stable design, making sure the turning radius is acceptable.
