Looking for one North American (Canada or USA) based researcher to help collect information for articles and other publications. This will be an ongoing project that will require 4 - 8 hours of flexible work each week. This job will require you calling and emailing businesses and government offices so some 9 to 5 availability will be required to do your research properly. Example of a possible project: We are doing an article on US employment conditions and are looking for employment data from each state to use in a table or graph in the report. We would also provide some context around what we are using the information for and a possible example data from 1-3 states we have already collected. 1) It would be common for us provide you with a list with the URL for each state office that handles data like this. 2) Some states may have this information readily available on their website. In this case you would just need to collect the needed information. For some projects you will find all the information easily online and will not need to call or email. 3) Some states will provide information in a different format or not be as straight forward. You will need to call them, or you may need to email them to get this information or verify what you found on their website is correct. This job is best suited for: An individual comfortable on the phone and making cold calls (Mostly US) as needed. You enjoy researching and investigating a variety of topics. Someone who is efficient and makes the best use of their time each day. You may also have a background in research or journalism. Someone with a Masters level degree is preferred but not required. Working with us is generally fun as we love what we get to do every day. We have created and co-created content that has been seen by millions of people over the past three years. Thanks!
