I'm developing an application ( http://bit.ly/limpet_pres ) to analyse a wide range of measurements, in a range of domains (science & industry, in the lab and in the field).
But, to aid general understanding of the application, I'd like to present some sample data in a domain that is familiar to many adults - the motor car. Users can then explore the tool, performing operations on data that is loosely familiar to them.
This data doesn't have to be real, or even close to real, It just has to be representative, and use the correct scientific dimensions & units (length, temperature, weight, etc).
The data should include time datasets that include concepts like "revs/min", "engine temperature", "speed", "distance travelled", "fuel consumption", "fuel remaining".
The typical form of a dataset will be a CSV of, say 200 points. The first column will be time, the second speed, then acceleration, etc...
I'm posting this as an hourly contract to allow for unpredicted types of dataset to be generated.
The data could come from an automotive simulator, maybe a game, or just calculated in Excel/MatLab/whatever.
The successful candidate does not have to work in the automotive domain - a general background in physics & engineering should be enough.
