Diversified Resource Management (DRM) is a manufacturer of precast concrete elements for multi-level buildings. DRM’s competitive advantage rests with its ability to provide innovative solutions to provide precast alternatives for vertical concrete elements which may traditionally be designed as in-situ and is founded on over 20 years experience within the structural precast concrete industry. We are seeking contracting services to create a schedule of quantities for all vertical concrete elements contained in multi-level projects that we are asked to be involved with. There are typically four types of vertical concrete elements that we require quantities for: • External Facades • Lift & Stair Cores • Columns • Balustrades & Hobs We are normally provided with an Architectural set of drawings (from which dimensions of various elements can be derived) and a Structural Engineered set of drawings (from which the actual structural elements can be derived). From the drawings provided, we require a set of a set of floor plans and elevations to be extracted and “marked up” to clearly identify the elements that will be contained in the schedule (Adobe Pro may be used for this purpose). The drawings have been embedded in the attached excel spreadsheet. We require the schedule to be developed using the excel spreadsheet provided as a template. We need the elements to be broken into individual wall panels if they are not shown as such (e.g. a typical lift core may be broken into four individual wall panels). Notes: 1. When creating the schedule, do so on a level by level basis separating the three element types (e.g. all external facade panels, then all core wall panels, then all columns). Enter all elements for each floor level before moving to the next level; 2. Unit Numbering (individual elements need to be clearly identified on the “marked-up” plans and/or elevations referred to above): a. Facade Panels - Use Floor Level, then a 3 digit numbering sequence starting at 001 (e.g. L2-001). b. Lift & Stair Core Panels - Use Floor Level, then a 3 digit numbering sequence starting at 101 (e.g. L2-101). c. Columns (may also include internal blade columns) - Use Floor Level, then a 3 digit numbering sequence starting at 201 (e.g. L2-201). d. Balustrades & Hobs - Use Floor Level, then a 3 digit numbering sequence starting at 301 (e.g. L2-301). 3. All dimensions are to be entered in metres (e.g. 3.755 x 2.850 x 0.150); 4. When entering dimensions for units that are not square or have notch-outs, always enter the overall highest dimension by the overall widest dimension; 5. Enter dimensions for large openings or notch-outs (e.g. windows, door openings, etc) in the spreadsheet. 6. In the event that units have various thicknesses, estimate the average thickness and enter that dimension. Make a note of any assumptions in the “Comment/Notes” column provided; 7. In the event that units are “L” shaped or “U” shaped, enter the developed length of the centre line of such units; 8. Use the “Comment/Notes” column to describe any special features of each unit (e.g. this unit is “L” shaped with dimensions 1.050 wide + 2.450 wide x 2.850 high). 9. Additional Information can be provided by email upon engagement.
