We are looking for an experienced Industrial Designer to assist with the design of a new addition to our electronic product line. The design should be a relatively straightforward project for the qualified designer, but manufacturability, attention to detail, turnaround time, and getting it right the first time are critical.
We're in the process of choosing the electronic hardware platform, so ideally we could work together to create a design that can be altered relatively easily to accommodate the various choices as availability and needs change. We're looking for an experienced person who can also help advise as to what is possible in this respect.
We have an existing design language and graphic design style guide, so the focus of this job is primarily on design for efficient manufacturing (injection molding) and best-practices CAD work than on concept, style or interface. We'll also want someone who is willing to help interface with manufacturers after the design is delivered to ensure a successful transition into production.
While this job is for this single specific project, our business is shifting focus toward product design, so we'd love to build a relationship with the right designer who can become our go-to person for future work as well.
If you're interested in this job, we'd love to see past work in this area, particularly focusing on projects taken all the way through to production. We look forward to hearing from you.
