I have a client that wants a section of their website redesigned. It will involve UI/UX advice, graphics/icons, plus also some ideas for interactive tools/interfaces (I have good javascript, html, and server folks, so we can implement the design concepts). At this first stage I would like to hire you to provide us with design ideas/concepts/mockups that could assist us with presenting some new ideas to our client. I would ask you to please study the clients website carefully (in particular looking at one section they want to make more "interactive"... yes it is vague, they are looking for new ideas). And then we can use your input to propose some redesign options to them. So any UI/UX advice, or mockups and concepts would be very helpful to see what ideas appeal to them. We may hire more than one person to assist us at this stage. And then if the client is interested in the concepts, also need your help for the additional web site work. This is for a client that has very high quality expectations, so I hope you will bring your best ideas. They are looking for a modern clean design. The client is confidential until you are selected for this work. I will provide links to the site upon the start of the project.

This position is open to US Citizens only. Project Raven is looking for a hybrid UI/UX designer responsible for conducting basic user research, interviews and surveys, and translating them into unique, user-centric products and experiences. You will be involved in product strategy from the very beginning, offering your knowledge and unique expertise to help shape product direction and turn ideas and concepts into a workable design. You will produce wireframes, prototypes, style guides and hi-fidelity designs to explore, experiment and ultimately advocate for simple, elegant solutions to complex problems. You will also design the overall functionality of the product and iterate upon it to ensure a great user experience. The ideal candidate will have experience working in agile teams, with developers, other UI and UX designers and copywriters. You will be able to make deliberate design decisions and to translate any given user-experience journey into a smooth and intuitive interaction. Experience leading the design efforts for one or more successful – successfully shipped or successfully downloaded – online or mobile products. You know great UX, and you can walk us through your portfolio and tell a compelling story about the hard decisions and compromises you had to make along the way. About The Team Project Raven is an independent startup product development team funded by an established and innovative company that specializes in corporate security. Our purpose is to create a beautiful, scaleable web product that no corporate security manager in the world can live without. You will be the first UX or design resource added to the team and will help shape the future of the product, along with other carefully selected designers and engineers. A results-only work environment (ROWE), we don’t care what time you work or where you work -- just that the results get done. As a startup, much of our technology will be chosen to best fit the challenge, but our web stack will focus on Ruby on Rails and SQL on Amazon Web Services (AWS). General Requirements: Strong understanding of HTML, Javascript, and CSS. You won’t necessarily be shipping production markup, styling, or code, but you see prototypes as just another means of communication. You aren’t scared of jumping into the command line, your editor of choice, or into a chair next to one of our razor-sharp developers to make things happen. You understand why we have UI best practices, and you don’t try to reinvent dropdowns with each new project. You want the interface to look as polished as possible, but you also value a good hard deadline. Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of an organization. You design it, you pitch it. Nobody hides behind project managers here. An insatiable curiosity and a constant drive to do and be better. You download new apps and take screenshots. You try out new design tools. You attend industry events. You do stuff on the side. You love what you do, you want to be great at it, and you know there’s always something new to learn. Specific Requirements - Expertise in UI and UX tools such as Photoshop, Sketch, Illustrator, InVision, UXPin, Quartz, Balsamiq, Framer.js and the like is a must. Basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills are a plus. - Ability to work with clients to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet client needs and vision. - Extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions, and a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design. - A solid grasp of user-centered design and testing methodologies, subsystems, and usability and accessibility concerns.

Have you got strong WordPress and UX skills, as well as a flair for design and a passion for attention to detail? Then you are just who we're looking for to build a WordPress website from scratch, using a classified ads theme/plugin, to create a website to be used for swapping goods/services in a specific niche.
