I'm looking for a simple, beautiful and elegant data visualization. I'd like for it to visualize certain activities in an area over time.
(Please note - this is only an example. This data visualization project is not related to McDonald's)
--on a Google Map of a city, I'd like to show all of the McDonald's restaurants
--then, at those restaurants, I'd like to be able to show how the food that is being eaten: cheeseburgers, fries, shakes, etc. (the labels should be editable) over the course of a certain period of time. Perhaps the meals are different colors? Perhaps there is a slider at the bottom to be able to scroll back and forth through time?
--Then I'd like to be able to zoom in and out of the Google Map and visualize all that data over a larger area: neighborhood, town, city, greater metro area, country, etc.
The user interface / user experience should be simple, elegant, and beautiful. The user should be able to view the data based on many variables. For example, which meals to display (only cheeseburgers? Only cheeseburgers and fries? Only shakes?). The user should also be able to hit a play button to simply let the visualization run over a set period of time instead of having to manually advance the slider which controls time.
In your Proposals, please submit samples of your work that fit this example that you've personally worked on. If the sample fits the project, I'll follow up with you directly about next steps.
