I'm looking for a comprehensive rundown on U.S. Sole Proprietor/Self Employment Tax Regulations. I'm trying to understand the things that I need to be aware of as I start earning money as a self employed freelancer. I'm a total newbie at this.
Things I'm interested in learning:
1) How to track earnings and expenses, and effectively set aside my money for taxes
2) How to organize my finances so that it requires the least effort possible to work on (I'm thinking like no more than an hour a month)
3) How the whole process works when you're self employed
4) Specific figures, tax brackets, and numbers that will help me determine what rates I need to charge for my services in order to reach my business goals
If you think you can help with that, I'd love to talk. As for the budget, I'm more interested in getting the information that I need. This is about quality.
I'm assuming this works out as a consultation, but I may not understand the industry. Happy to be enlightened!
PS- I work in multiple industries, including photography and writing.
