We want to build a round shape Fitness Tracker with Bluetooth low energy. We need a production ready board/circuit design for a fitnesstracker device. Some specifications and possible parts which could be used. These Parts are not fixed you could use other parts if it makes more sense for your design. - Bluetooth 4.0 (Bluetooth and ARM Cortex-M0 SOC - nRF51822 ) - 6-Axis Accelerometer (3-axis accelerometer + gyroscope) - Indicator rgb-LED - Board should have a round shape with maximum diameter of 24mm - Powered by CR2032 Coincell Battery What our device should do at the end: - load the data from the device via BT 4.0 (LE) - show an indication via RGB LED while it is pairing/loading the data - get battery status - low enegry consumption, the CR2032 should work for several months If the design is properly done and we worked well together. We are also interested in a longer working relationship. Which could be the testing of the design, firmware development and prototype testing etc. not required: Please inform me if you have the possibilities/contacts to: Test/build a prototype and write the firmware for the device. Do a Production of 5000pcs. Injectionmolding for the product case of the electronicboard.

OVERVIEW: I have a development kit that includes a system-on-module (SOM) and a carrier board that makes it possible to use a wide range of peripherals with the SOM for development purposes. My team has been prototyping our software and peripherals with this carrier board (an ongoing process), but we are now at the point where we would like to build our own custom carrier board that is more suited for our specific needs. We would like to work with you in order to develop a PCB layout for this project. PRELIMINARY DETAILS: The reference designs – schematics, Gerber files, and extensive documentation and datasheets – are available for the underlying SOC, the SOM module and the carrier board. We want you to create a new design for the carrier board by: 1. Adding the necessary connectors, headers, and components 2. Removing/terminating certain components 3. Redoing the layout of the board to meet a smaller form factor 4. Adding a battery and battery charging circuitry We have specifications for all 4 of these tasks. This will need to be very careful work. You must take care to ensure that the system will continue to perform even when some parts are added and others are removed. You will also need to make sure that the components to be removed are terminated correctly, that the rest of the system has no dependency on them, and that the software we are leveraging allows us to remove these components. Our physical constraints are: 1. Size: 150mm (length) x 80mm (height) x 15mm (width) 2. Weight: 150g (excluding battery) 3. Must not generate “too much” heat – i.e. must have proper heat dissipation plan 4. Can have components on both sides of board DELIVERABLES: The deliverables for this project are: 1. Schematics (should be able to open and edit with Eagle) 2. PCB layouts (should be able to open and edit with Eagle) 3. Gerber files 4. BOM Please also include any associated parts/CAM/etc. libraries that you use in the process of performing this job! PAYMENT AND PROJECT COMPLETION: This project has a hard deadline of April 20, 2016. This is a fixed-cost project. We will pay you a maximum of 30% of the total project cost once we receive the deliverables, i.e. before testing the board, and the remainder of the fee once we have assembled the board, tested it with our software and peripherals, and seen that everything works as it should. Because this is hardware, and the iteration cycles are such that you/we can’t immediately test your work, we need to make sure that we are paying for work that actually functions. Anything less will obviously not be satisfactory. APPROACH: We expect this to be a highly iterative process, with constant communication and daily updates from you to us and vice versa. This is important because our specifications might change and you might need to run something by us, among other things. On our end, we promise to be highly communicative throughout the project, and will be very involved in this whole process. We’re going to be working on developing our peripheral devices that we need to connect to the board simultaneously, so we expect this will be a very innovative and collaborative couple weeks for all parties involved. Please note that all of the work you do will have to be performed under NDA and will belong to our company. We will ask you to sign the appropriate documents at the start of the project! APPLICATIONS: In order to apply for this job, please respond with your resume/CV and answer the following questions (please keep your answers <200 words): 1. How do you verify that your PCB layouts will work? 2. What would you recommend that we do if your PCB layouts do not work? How do you think we should respond/move forward? 3. How many hours do you anticipate spending on this project? 4. (Just for fun) What’s your favorite hobby? We’ll reach out after we receive your application! We’re excited to meet you and work with you!
